Three members of the family, including Dr. Aung Aung Tun, the owner of the Thuriya Clinic in Mandalay's Maha Aung Myay Township, were arrested by the military on April 26, according to family members.

A local resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, told RFA that the military council had arrested and arrested the CDM doctors who were working for non-violent rebellion. "Many soldiers and plainclothes men came and arrested us," he said. The clinic was closed.

"While the patients were being treated, the soldiers intervened and the patients had to flee." Dr. Aung Aung Tun and his father, as well as a female doctor, were arrested and all three clinics named Thuriya were closed by the military council.

Are CDM health workers working in private hospitals in Mandalay? According to local doctors, the military council has been conducting a surprise inspection in recent days.

Doctors in Mandalay told RFA that in March, the licenses of 15 CDM specialists in Mandalay were confiscated. According to a report by the New York-based PHR Physicians for Human Rights, 30 doctors were killed between February 1, 2021 and January 2022. 286 health workers were arrested and taken to hospitals and clinics.

A total of 128 clinics were attacked and 415 health workers were attacked, the report said. The group says Myanmar is one of the most dangerous countries for health workers.
