Hello there. Welcome back. Hope you are doing great. Do you get enough sleep? Sleep is crucial for our health and many of us are lacking when it comes to it. According to a report from the National Sleep Foundation

  • Newborn babies under 3 months need 14-17 hours
  • Infants from 4 to 11 months need 12-15 hours
  • Toddlers from 1 to 2 years need 11-14 hours
  • Children from 3 to 5 years need 10-13 hours
  • Children from 6 to 13 years need 9-11 hours
  • Teenagers from 14 to 17 years need 8-10 hours
  • Adults from 18 to 64years need 7-9 hours
  • Adults over 65 years need 7-8 hours

So, what happens if we lose our sleep?

In the short term, a lack of adequate sleep can affect judgement, mood, ability to learn and retain information, and may increase the risk of serious accidents and injury. In the long term, chronic sleep deprivation may lead to a host of health problems including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even early mortality.

To get a better sleep,

  • avoid using phones and tablets at least 1 hour before bedtime.
  • Keep a consistent wakeup time and bedtime
  • treat getting enough sleep as if it is as important as taking medicine

Hope this helps you and have a great time.
