A car bomb exploded at the foot of the Thai-Burmese Friendship Bridge in Myawaddy last night, according to the BBC Thai Service.
The blast damaged an immigration checkpoint on the Myawaddy side, according to a BBC Thai correspondent in Mae Sot, Thailand.
April 23 The bomber struck shortly after 11pm local time. A loud explosion was also heard in Mae Sot.
The explosion set fire to a checkpoint on the Myawaddy side. He said some shops and nearby buildings were also damaged.
A completely destroyed car was found at the scene and may have been used in the car bombing, a BBC correspondent said.
The cause of death is still being investigated.
