Welcome to an early look ahead at the Netflix Originals currently due to release in May 2022. This list will grow over time with new Netflix Original movies and shows coming to the service around the globe and carrying the Netflix Tudum sound before starting up.

English Language Netflix Originals Coming in May 2022

The Pentaverate
Coming to Netflix: May 5th
Mike Myers is returning to this character roots with this brand new series that sees him playing multiple characters. The plot primarily follows a Canadian journalist embroiled in a deep conspiracy plot.

Along for the Ride 
Coming to Netflix: May 6th
Originally due to be released in April, Along for the Ride has been pushed back to early May for its global release.
Produced by Screen Arcade, this new romance teen movie stars Emma Pasarow, Andie MacDowell, Dermot Mulroney, and Kate Bosworth.
It’s based on the book by Sarah Dessen and is about two teens enjoying what summer they have left together before they head out to college.

Operation Mincemeat
Coming to Netflix: May 11th
Excludes most of Europe including the United Kingdom
This British movie that seeks to retell the real events of Operation Mincemeat will see Colin Firth headline the cast alongside Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen. It follows the deception operation that eventually led to the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943.
John Madden is set to direct the WW2 drama.
As mentioned, only select regions will carry the show excluding the UK and other European countries where it’ll be getting a theatrical release in April 2022.

Senior Year
Coming to Netflix: May 13th
Rebel Wilson will headline this new comedy movie that’s being directed by Alex Hardcastle.
Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming movie:
“After a cheerleader falls off a pyramid and into a 20 year coma, she wakes up as a 37-year-old woman, ready to return to high school, regain her status and claim the prom queen crown that eluded her.”

The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: May 13th
One of our most anticipated new series releases of 2022 is the new series adaptation The Lincoln Lawyer which has already seen a major adaptation in the form of the Matthew McConaughey movie.
In the series, we’ll be following a lawyer who operates his thriving law practice solely out of his iconic Lincoln Town Car.
The new series stars Neve Campbell, Christopher Gorham, and Jazz Raycole.

The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: May 19th
We’re headed back to the world of The Boss Baby at Netflix. Following the success of Family Business on Netflix, we’ve got more (unexpected) adventures in May 2022.
Here’s what we can expect from the new season:
“Following the events of ‘The Boss Baby: Family Business’ Theodore Templeton is framed for embezzlement and forced to revert back to his old Boss Baby self and crash with his brother Tim and his two nieces, brainy big kid Tabitha and fellow Baby Corp employee Tina. Together, Boss Baby and Tina co-lead a new Field Team fighting to increase Baby Love while keeping a new group of arch-nemeses – The Uncuddleables – from destroying Baby Corp itself.”

My Little Pony: Make Your Mark (2022)
Coming to Netflix: May 26th
Ahead of a new My Little Pony series debuting on Netflix in September, this special will introduce us to the “Mane 5” on a journey of self-discovery.

Stranger Things (Season 4 – Volume 1)
Coming to Netflix: May 27th
After nearly three years of waiting, we’re finally heading back to Hawkins (among other destinations) for a supersized fourth season of Stranger Things that kicks off at the end of May 2022.
The first batch of episodes will arrive on May 27th with the remaining episodes then coming on July 1st.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: May TBD
Language: Japanese
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 had a somewhat controversial debut on Netflix back in November 2021 with an art style that was largely dismissed by fans. To this day, it only manages a 14% on RottenTomatoes.
Nevertheless, fans will get to see season 2 of the show at some point in May.

Clark (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix: May 5th
Language: Swedish
Bill Skarsgård will headline this new Swedish series about a notorious bank robber Clark Olofsson who largely is associated with the phrase “The Stockholm syndrome” by becoming loved by the population.
6 episodes will be released on May 5th.

The Sound of Magic
Coming to Netflix: May 6th
Language: Korean
Could this be Netflix’s next Squid Game? It has the potential. The new Korean fantasy series has some enticing promos so far and is one of the most unique shows you’ll see throughout the entire month of May.
Here’s what you can expect from the new K-drama:
“A touching drama about Yoon Ah-yi, a girl who had to grow up too fast, and Rieul, a mysterious magician who — although grown up — wants to remain as a kid.”

The Takedown
Coming to Netflix: May 6th
Language: French
Omar Sy, made a global superstar thanks to Lupin, will feature in this new French action movie starring alongside Laurent Lafitte.
The movie, directed by Louis Leterrier, is about two cops with very different style and sees them travel across France for a brand new case.

Vampire in the Garden (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: May 16th
Language: Japanese
Wit Studio (the studio behind Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us and Netflix’s Bubble) is bringing their next series to Netflix in the form of Vampire in the Garden.
The story is about the fateful meeting of a human and the vampire queen that may change the world.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (Season 2)
Coming to Netflix: May 23rd
Language: Japanese
Public Security Section 9 once again takes on a threat against humanity in the second season of this Ghost in the Shell anime series.
While the show didn’t exactly get the reception it was hoping for thanks to a rather watered-down art style.
